One requirement for the US Government Course for SBHS Seniors is to attend three (3) government meetings, take notes and fill out the linked form.  You have several options:

• Hollister City Council (First and Third Mondays of Each Month, 5th St.)
• San Juan Bautista City Council
  • The City Council meets the third Tuesday of each month in Council Chambers at City Hall, 311 Second Street, San Juan Bautista at 6:00 pm. Our City Council consists of five members elected to serve four-year terms.
• Sunnyslope Water District Board
• SBC Planning Commission
• Hollister Elementary School District Board of Trustees (meets 4th Tuesday of each month)
• SBC Board of Supervisors
• San Benito County Water Board (last Wednesday of each month)
• Airport Advisory Commission
• San Benito County General Plan Update
• Council of County Governments (meetings begin at 2 pm, so this may not be an option for most)
• San Benito County Board of Education
  • The County Board of Education meets on the second Thursday of each month, 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room, San Benito County Office of Education, 460 Fifth Street, Hollister.
    
• Special Events (e.g. When elected officials from Sacramento or Washington, D.C. are speaking in public meetings in the area)

You will need an official on site at the meeting to sign off on your attendance at the meeting--there is no credit without this.

Part of what you are looking for is the procedure and planning that goes into these meetings.  You are also to note how law enters into nearly every aspect of the decisions being made.
